Dr. Eugene Israilov was introduced to the field of physical therapy at the age of 15, after suffering multiple shoulder dislocations while playing basketball in his neighborhood playgrounds. Recurrent dislocations continued to persist and months of physical therapy were to no avail, as surgery was performed at the age of 16. After receiving six months of intense physical therapy post operatively,, Eugene returned to play the sport that he loved as an active teenager. However, surgery did not help his chronic condition as he continued to suffer from multiple dislocations one year after surgery. Eugene started to question whether the appropriate physical therapy interventions were provided, specifically for an active basketball athlete.

He sought out to answer his own questions, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from CUNY Queens College in Family Nutrition & Exercise Science. Realizing there is a gap between the fitness and rehabilitation industry, Eugene continued to pursue his education by attending SUNY Downstate Medical Center where he received his Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. During the final year of education, Eugene attended a Clinical Athlete seminar and became a Certified Weightlifting coach. The certification enhanced his ability to train members in the UFC gym during his final year in school.

A few years in the field, he worked his way up the ranks in a competitive outpatient facility as a Clinical Director. He was unhappy with the model of a volume based clinic, where patient first care wasn’t the priority. His ultimate goal is to individualize the care and customize the program for every client to meet their desires goals faster. Recently receiving his Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialization, Eugene started to promote movement based routines in his rehabilitation guidelines. He believes every individual client has the athletic potential to enhance their means and way of living without surgery, pain medication, or injections to cope with their pain.
